About us
Hello and welcome to our family at Zida Academy!
We are a private licensed childcare and educational centre for children ages under 18 months to 6 years old.
Zida Academy is situated over 1.5 acres of fully fenced and gated landscaped private property surrounded by the beautiful Trans Canada Trail with state-of-the art facilities in the heart of Stittsville. Offering over 50,000 square feet of outdoor space for children to learn and explore. We are also conveniently located and easily accessible to free public parking, bus routes and the bustling Main Street!
Zida Academy is open year-round, except for provincial statutory holidays. We remain open for Easter Monday, Civic Holiday, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and Remembrance Day. Our licensed child care centre hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Children are provided with a hot lunch and two snacks each day that are cooked on-site everyday by our very own professional chef using only the freshest and most healthy ingredients. All meals are prepared with various allergies and dietary restrictions in mind while following the recommendations from the latest Canada's Food Guide.
Our educators are composed of Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and Ministry of Education approved educators with a diverse background in various educational methods such as the International Baccalaureate, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf and "How Does Learning Happen?" Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years.
Zida Academy is also Canada’s first and only Steinway Select School that teaches piano to young children as part of our curriculum. Neuroscientists have demonstrated that learning to play an instrument leads to changes in a child’s brain that make it more likely they will reach their full cognitive and academic potential.
The name "ZIDA" is derived from the Chinese words 智 (Zhì) and 达 (Dá), which translate to "Knowledge" and "Achieve", respectively. Zida Academy’s mission is to provide a world-class learning environment that prepares children to reach their full potential in a global future.
